Imposter Syndrome – it's way more common than you think
There are two types of people – those who suffer from the Impostor syndrome and those who never heard of it. Of course, there are some exceptions, but they only prove that Impostor syndrome is a significant topic, and its effects are more intense than considered.
Many people in the software development industry often think they are in the IT by mistake, that they are not as good as they are treated, that they don’t deserve all of these perks and salaries. The list goes on and on. And that might eventually lead to downshifting, one of the best engineers quit unexpectedly, stress, depression, you name it.
I want to talk about this topic in more detail and cover topics that might help those who think they are impostors to stop thinking so (well, at least make the effects of the syndrome less intense). Also, I want to talk about noticing that your employees or colleagues suffer from Impostor syndrome and what you can do to help them to stop worrying and live better lives.
No prerequisites, everyone is welcome. Most useful for those who always feel like they're not who people think they are.
