Measuring search result quality
This session is for a beginner and intermediate that want to know how good or bad is their search quality.
The session will cover
1. Why do we need to measure the quality
2. How do we measure it.
which metric do we use ?
which dataset we need to have ?
how to we get and create gold standard for comparison.
3. Step-by-step of creating measurement system
The session will also includes example of use cases to answer the following questions.
1. is stopword actually increase the search result quality ?
2. should we decompund compund word in our search ?
About me: I am long time drupal developer, starting from drupal 4.1. I architected and maintains search engine as service using solr search engine for the past 5 years. One of the CMS that we use to integrated with this solr services is Drupal. At the moment, I am in my final year of my study on computational linguistic. Information Retrieval (e.g. search ) is one of my core expertise.
