Render me this... lazily

joachim

Drupal 8 comes with a whole new caching system which is designed to allow caching of as much of a page as possible.

In this session we'll look at making the most of this for your pages which contain a mix of cacheable and not-so-cacheable content.

You maybe can't control where your product owners and designers decide to put things on the page, but when you build up your page in your controller class, an understanding of how the render system uses the cache can help you ensure the cache is used as much as possible.

We'll look at custom caching, lazy builders, custom token replacement in Twig templates, and more.
