Solr versus Elasticsearch, can we settle down please?

Although both search engines are based on the same Lucene technology, there always seems to be some sort of conflict between the two. I’m talking about the search engines Solr and Elasticsearch, of course. A struggle that sometimes seems to be fueled by emotion rather than clear facts. Why do we choose one or why do we choose the other? What considerations were included in the preliminary phase and are people happy with the chosen implementation afterwards?
In this talk, we will make a comparison between the two systems based on complicated data and compare the results. We look at performance, user-friendliness and reliable search results. Search no further for the mother of all search shootouts!
