Join us on Monday September 26 at DrupalCon Dublin for a One Day UnConference dedicated to exploring the issues that matter most to the Drupal community.

Wait! What’s an unconference?

  • Unconferences are to meetings, what “free jazz” is to music. Cooperation and improvisation.
  • Discussion topics are selected and scheduled by YOU!
  • Mostly discussions, not presentations.
  • Play by the rule of motion. If the session you’re in, isn’t right for you, feel free to move to another session.
  • The people in the room are the right people.

There’s lots more information about unconferences online - but please feel free to contact us if you have questions. The main thing is, it’s free, and all are welcome. Here’s some great tips on how to prepare to attend an unconference.

Who should attend?

You! Are you part of a Drupal community or want to start one in your city? This Summit is meant to be a meeting place for all Drupalistas invested in their community. Whether you need help maintaining a long-standing camp or User Group, you’re new to the community and want to know where you can get involved, or you want to share a success story from your community, everyone is welcome.

What gets discussed?

You decide! Topics at past events have included:

  • How to organise large events
  • Improving diversity
  • Growing local communities
  • Matching mentors to new contributors

But it all gets decided on the day, by whoever is in the room.

Do I need to register?

Please register if you intend to come, so we know how many people will need lunch. Only registered attendees will get a lunch coupon.

Register Yourself

Set the tone, get in tune and join the chorus.

Here’s a draft outline of the day to give you an idea of the ‘plan’ for the unconference day.

Be prepared for this to change if it needs to.
10:00 Community Summit opens
10:05 Introductions - everyone takes a moment to quickly answer 3 questions

  1. What is your name?
  2. Where are you from?
  3. What do you want out of today?

10:30 Set the agenda - everyone writes ideas on sticky notes, and puts them somewhere in the grid
11:15 Lightning talks - everyone who proposed a session topic should speak briefly about that topic

  • Name of the topic?
  • What time and table number is it scheduled in?
  • What do you hope to learn or do about this topic?
