Agile-ish: Finding the right balance between Agile, Lean, and Waterfall as your team grows

dcor

From the begining, we at BioRAFT have utilized lean and agile product development methodologies, techniques, and approaches. However, we moved from a team of roughly 3 people to that of 15+.  This talk will focus on the challenges and of how we put development standards in to place to run one of the most efficent, co-operative and happy teams on the planet.  We will talk about processes and tools that we have used/considered and the successes and failures we encountered.

This talk will be helpful to anyone who is trying to establish good practices for project and product management.  (Beginner/Intermediate)

  • How to optimize your development process with the aim of lean/agile
  • How to do a retrospective that works
  • When to change your process and when to leave things the same
  • How the addition of more people/personalities to your team affects the entire process
  • Listening to your developers and project managers

Tools covered:

  • Basecamp
  • Trello
  • Jira
