Assembling the Perfect Drupal 8 Team

ikos

Drupal 8 changed the game for custom development with the introduction of Symfony components and more complete Object Oriented code. Other tools such as Configuration Management and Drupal Console have had a different effect on the workflow of a site build meaning that some tried and tested methods of working with Drupal 7 need to be re-examined.

In this session we'll look at the types of roles that make up a complete Drupal 8 team for a large project and how those roles have changed since Drupal 7. We'll also look at external factors like working with clients, partners, contractors as part of the D8 build team.

Topics covered in this session:

  • Typical roles in a Drupal 8 build
  • Is Drupal experience always necessary?
  • Do we need a Drupal-specialist front-end developer?
  • Incorporating client-side development teams
  • Working with an external design agency
  • Working with another Drupal agency
  • What is the role of the site builder in Drupal 8?
  • The role of coaching and training

At the end of this session I hope you come away with a different perspective about your team selection process for Drupal 8 projects.
