Donation platform review and discussion of the charity sector BoF
Description
We work with a number of charities and have recently launched a global donation platform for a major humanitarian aid charity (who we're not allowed to name in writing unfortunately) that resulted in more than double the number of donation through the site.
We would like to propose a BoF session to present the new module and discuss putting a team together to support and enhance it when we submit it back.
A broader discussion point would be how can we better support charities and not profits in General. What could we add to the modules out there that would make Drupal more attractive to this sector?
What level of knowledge do you need?
While we will give a technical overview of the module this is not the sole focus of the session so attendees from all backgrounds can join.
We are discussing the user experience and business challenges as much as anything else so even non-technical individuals will gain some value from this.
What are the objectives?
We want to identify individuals and teams who are working in the not-for-profit and charity sector, who may be interested in sharing past work, understanding if there are other modules out there that could be submitted or updated and possibly building a more coherent Drupal proposition for this space.
Attendees should leave with an understanding of the donation platform we have developed and ideas for better serving the charity sector and we'd like this to be the start of a regular group potentially partnering with Acquia as we have discussed this with them (David Aponovich, Chrystal Hayselden and Kirsten Stiles).
