Effective Project Management - how to get things done?
The essentials of every project is how to get things done in terms of:
- delivering on time and budget,
- keeping continuously high quality
- fulfill client’s expectations
- having happy dev team
It is not easy, right? In fact it is quite difficult.
To deliver a project that can be considered as a successful story we need to keep an eye on many topics as forming the right team, applying the most appropriate methodology for the specific project, having the relevant processes in place. However, the key element for each project is the efficiency or how instead of wasting too much time planning / discussing / assuming we can get the things done.
The main items that we’ll cover in sessions are:
- Practical examples on project planning that is “just enough and just in time”;
- Project status reporting and make the info comprehensive enough by visualising it;
- Gathering client requirements by preparing User journeys diagrams and User stories mapping;
- Getting the current project “snapshot” by practical tools as Burn-down charts, Task diagrams, Sprint / Project schedules;
- Team forming and project resource profile : from project initiation to project closing phase;
- Building your budget forecasts and burn-up charts;
- Forecast possible risks and how to mitigate them.
Mistakes can happen, but the most important point is to take the needed actions not to repeat the same mistakes over again. We would like to share our experience from our perspective what are the right actions to get the things done along with the most common mistakes.
The session is addressed to all people dealing with project management of Drupal projects who are seeking for optimising the daily tasks, increase their profeciency and of course get the things done.
