The future of content creation

miro_dietiker

We worked with various media companies to relaunch their platforms, help transforming business models, and create a collaborative open environment for innovation to lead initiatives such as media as one of the global top contributors to Drupal.

But we can't change the fact: Many media companies are losing power and are struggling with the digital transformation.

We need to make Drupal a great tool for the content creation of the future. And that needs much more than building a content management framework that could do anything with just enough custom site building:

  • Content creation needs to be super simple, without technical clutter.
  • The resulting content needs to create a unique experience to the reader.
  • Content is a compilation of modular content components of rich media.
  • Content needs to support a wide range of media including various embeds.
  • Content needs to adapt to the device and channel in multi channel publishing.
  • Content needs to be exchangable across platforms. (Example AMP)

We need to move away from a black box body blob concept, where the CMS has absolutely no clue about its content.

Decoupling Drupal is just one reason more that demands for semantic, structured content.

Content creators need the power to build rich content without the need of a site builder or developer.

I want to share our vision of the future of content creation and how Drupal can lead the innovation in content creation. With redefining "content" in "CMS" and caring about creation experience first. By gaining overview of existing content creation tools and striving for a solution that ships a great package to the creators out of the box.
