“The best way a mentor can prepare another leader is to expose him or her to other great people.”—John C. Maxwell

What's this about :

Mentors can open the door, not just give advice. There is huge responsibility bestowed upon them. It it not just to guide or help someone, a successful mentor should help other mentees to become mentors. They should be able to listen well, guide mentees through various problems and help them to focus on action.

Mentee also have their responsibility as they are being mentored. How they should approach mentor for work done by them, for doubts, clarification etc. We will be discussing that from Drupal and general life perspective. We’ll cover:

  • Expectations of mentors and mentees from each other

  • Discussion from Drupal perspective

  • Role of Drupal community events in mentoring new users.

  • Statistics and analysis from mentored code sprints

How to be mentor and how to treat mentees by being human and in turn there are lots of responsibilities from mentee to give reasonable outcome that satisfies mentors expectation.

We’ll also be sharing statistics from Drupal.org, showing how mentorship increases number of core contributions and others in the Drupal ecosystem.
