How to fit in the Drupal ecosystem when you're not a developer
parth_gohil
Drupal's open source ecosystem is diverse and has opportunities for coders and non-coders to contribute to the project inside Drupal.org and outside. My open source contributions aren't through code and over the course of 3 years, I've learnt a great deal about how where & when a non-coder can get involved to contribute back to the Drupal ecosystem. The way I see it there are more roles a non-coder can play in the Drupal community than a coder.
In this session, I'll talk about
-
Ways to contribute to Drupal without coding.
-
My journey as one of the first Drupal Community Managers in India.
-
The role of a community manager in the open source ecosystem.
-
What does it take to start as a volunteer and move on to become an organiser for 5 different camps in India?
-
How to add more value to the community and bring them at par with other tech communities or other matured regional communities
-
-
Why non-code contributions in the physical world are important for Drupal's Image & adoption.
-
How to fit within the developer community when you're not a coder.
-
What role does a community manager play in the open source community?
-
Non-code contributions beyond drupal.org
-
How non-code contributions are more important than you think.
-
Workings of the Indian Drupal community.
-
Ways to get involved with the Drupal community to bring a larger change.
Anyone who is looking to give back but can't code or doesn't want to code or want's to give a little extra besides the code.
