Leading an Open Source Project
Have you wondered what it takes to lead an open source project successfully? Have you yourself struggled leading a project and wondered if there might be tools or techniques that could help your community?
But what about everything that goes on behind the scenes of the project? How do leaders in the project keep everything running and keep the project from falling apart? In this talk, Tessa will discuss what she’s learned from being involved in leadership within the Joomla! CMS project and how you can benefit from it. You will leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and full of positivity.
This is a beginner level talk, and I've done this 3 times with amazing feedback and a lot of people feeling inspired afterwards. This session will help anyone from contributors, to employees, to management, to open source teams and leadership teams. I've had representatives from corporate companies after my talk asking for more advice on leading their open source teams. I can do this as a 15 minute, 45 minute, or 60 minute session or Keynote.
