Unbuilding Your Business
About My Talk: This is a talk that I recently gave as a keynote speech for the Drupalcamp Gauteng 2016 (you can download the presentation asset here - http://www.bravedigital.com/unbuilding-business-part-2/) and it speaks to a whole new way of doing business. It covers the new concepts and developments that surround the Teal organisational framework and gives a grounding as to the core principles surrounding Teal.
While Teal is not a new concept, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the concept ie how does self-management work, what is wholeness and evolutionary purpose and how does one practically apply these concepts into every day business. My talk aims to explain why it should be considered as a viable organisational model for a Drupal/Software development studio/agency, that a new business paradigm like Teal is evolutionarily inevitable in our society as a whole and how new/established agencies can apply certain principles in their every day business to improve the work/life balance and gain significant increase in staff engagement and project output quality.
The attached slide is the presentation assets that I used for my keynote speech, but it focuses more on introducing Teal as a concept and spends less time on practical applications. I would adjust it somewhat to accomodate a more sophisticated European target audience which may be more familiar to the concepts of Teal and spend more time on practical everyday applications.
Knowledge level: The knowledge level of attendees is ideally for business owners, anyone who wants to start a business or who is running teams, but it really applies to anyone who spends their days working in some sort of organisation, be it for/non-profit
Take aways: Ideally, attendees will walk away with a clearer perspective and an expanded context of the new paradigms of business that we find ourselves on the cusp of. Attendees will hopefully be inspired to learn more about Teal with the end goal to instigate and promulgate these practices into their own businesses and teams.
The topic is quite broad and the presentation that I have provided here could be followed to the letter or could be adjusted to focus on particular details and or concepts within the broader scope, so if you have feedback as to how you might adjust this, I am very open to this.
