What Sucks about Software Development

bjaspan

Software development workflow and best practices are constantly improving, and have certainly come a long way. However, any working programmer knows that "best practices" aren't always all that great and often include a number of really broken things. In this session, we'll talk about things that suck about our job, and will happily solicit input from the audience. We promise that we will only identify problems and not offer anything that looks like a solution---because if a solution exists yet, the problem does not really suck (*).

Attendees should be working software developers, or anyone that cares about them.

(*) Snark aside, in case it isn't obvious, the primary reason to talk about unsolved problems is to identify areas in which new solutions are needed.
