Women in Drupal - in India!!

I have been involved with Drupal since the Drupal 4.6 times (yes I am old!!!), but only recently have I started seeing a bigger participation of women in Drupal community events. It's not that there is a dearth of women in Drupal in India (I am calling it WDI from now on), but as noted in several women in tech meets - the reason is basically visibility.

In this session, I will talk a bit about women in technology in general followed by specific socio-economic conditions in India which further decrease the participation of WDI in community events.

I will also talk specifically about a couple of WDI - how they started with Drupal and how Drupal has been instrumental in their lives.

About the speaker:

Educational qualifications make Suchi a "Manager" in Finance and Marketing, but her 19 years of experience has mostly been in the world of IT. She started off with PHP in the year 2000 when OOPS was something people said when they made a mistake and not necessarily in "computer" terms. She has a passion for development, and just can not keep her hands off of the code - even when needed. For the past 6-7 years, she has been handling projects in managerial capacity as well.
