Eating Vegan in Barcelona

DrupalCon attendees can enjoy their visit to Barcelona taking a walk around some of the many interesting routes that our city has.

I've been part of the vegetarian and vegan community in Barcelona for the past few years and I'm going to share my favorite tips with you so you can spend a fabulous DrupalCon week in a healthy and enjoyable way!

My travel experience tells me to always carry some snacks and fast-food in my handbag just in case.

You can find some vegan, veggie, gluten free or special food in most of the supermarkets but If you need more diversity and quality you can shop in the «vegan, gluten free or eco friendly»supermarkets.

I strongly recommend one shop called Ecocentre, where you can find all kind of vegan stuff, including a delicious vegan cheese or desserts.

If you are looking for a place to have a brunch, a coffee or a quick break in your touristic journey, I recommend you to use the HappyCow app to check the veg friendly places around you. Fortunately the number of these places is growing every day.

In case you are looking for a restaurant, here is list of few nice veggie / vegan restaurants that you can find in the city. The most famous is Teresa Carles, this restaurant was born 35 years ago, it has rural origins and is still owned by the original family founders. You can also enjoy the Biocenter andl'Hortet, all of them are close to the city center, a good place to end your tour.

I hope this information is useful and you can enjoy your stay. Don't hesitate to ask me or any local community member for any advice you need. We want you to enjoy the DrupalCon and remember it forever.

See you in September!
