Front end branches out to inspire and excite

It’s almost that time of the year, where we get the Drupal community together in Europe to celebrate and share amazing stories. In Front end we are coders, designers, and sometimes both. We build themes, work with developers, designers, project managers, content strategists, marketers and clients. We are looking for a mix of topics that will inspire and excite us.

The Front end track will have 13 sessions and we would like to cover the following topics:

  • Preprocessors
  • CSS architecture
  • Templating systems (Twig)
  • Performance
  • New HTML5 specifications & browser features
  • Automation tools
  • Front end testing
  • Javascript Libraries
  • Grid and UI frameworks
  • New age design tools
  • Solving new design problems
  • Typography

That is a lot of content! Now that Content Strategy has it’s own track we have a bit more space to branch out.

We want to hear what you’ve been creating. We want to know how you are implementing new tools into your workflow. We want to learn how you simplify (or complicate) your work while adding these tools. We want you to share that excitement of using something new, that 'A-h'a moment.

We've got some special sessions in mind

We are encouraging other front end developers outside of the Drupal community to submit sessions about what they are most passionate about, I’m sure we have plenty to learn from them.

We have invited typography designers to share their work with us as well.

We are also looking for a panel discussion about the role front-enders play by connecting the designers and developers. We are looking for those crazy people who are both coders and designers who are the glue between both worlds. We want to know how they deal with the difficulties of that position and also the satisfaction it gives them. Are you up for the challenge? Reach out to me @jolidog

How do I propose a session?

  • The call for content closes on 8 June midnight CEST, that means you still have a full day after Frontend United ends to submit your session. Get inspired there, submit your session, and speak in Barcelona!
  • Decide on a topic. If you’re not sure how to structure your submission, check our tips on how to get your session selected.
  • Submit your session on our event site. That’s it! We will be in touch before June 28.

What are you waiting for?
