Local Drupal organization offers two-day beginner Drupal training session in Barcelona

Drupal.cat, the local Drupal Association in Catalonia, is offering a free two-day Drupal training session for beginners in September, just a few days before DrupalCon hits Barcelona. Taking advantage of the Drupal fever that will be in town, the local organization seeks to promote Drupal in Spain and make more people aware of it as a viable CMS tool. Trainings will be in Spanish and Catalan.

The event is specifically geared to the local community interested in creating their own web site or in getting trained with new skills in the ever-growing IT & communications field.

The training sessions will be held on September 18 and 19 at CitiLab in Cornella de Llobregat. Friday's session will feature an introduction to Drupal (from 6:00 to 8:30 pm). Saturday's session will be similar to a pared-down version of DrupalCamp. It will feature 2 tracks:

  • Beginners track: For people who have never worked with Drupal, they will learn about basic modules, themes, views and multilingual sites.
  • Experienced tech track: For people who have had experience with Drupal and are more technical, they will learn about best practices, creating modules and layouts.

On Saturday there will also be an Install Party for those who want to install and configure Drupal on their own laptop.

Attendees will also receive:

  • a free .CAT domain con 6-months free hosting at CDmon
  • Pack of 6 ebooks Experto en Drupal 7 from Forcontu Drupal Training & Consulting
  • 60% discount on the online course Experto en Drupal 7 from Forcontu
