Session Spotlight: the Business track is for more than just business people

Whether you're counting Business Summit attendees or conference registrants with C-Suite titles, last year DrupalCon Europe saw about 500 attendees who were highly interested in the business-side of Drupal. As we saw in the Business Track and the business-related BoFs, there is a strong interest at Cons for not only learning the skills to code better, but also to make your business better, and DrupalCon Barcelona will be no different.

One session we’d like to highlight is 'Self-Managing Organizations: Teal is the New Orange', found in the Business track. It will be presented by Lukas Smith (lsmith77) and Tonio Zemp (tonsibonsi). Lukas, a coder by origin, was the co-release manager of PHP 5.3 and is part of the core team of Symfony. Tonio is a product owner on the Drupal team in Zurich. Both are also part of the management team at Liip, where they explore new ways to build sustainable tech businesses based on empowerment and self-management.

While it can be easy to focus in on one track, we recommend that you keep your eye out for sessions outside your comfort track like this one -- they can add a different kind of value to your Con experience.  Join Lukas and Tonio in Room 111 on Tuesday from 15:45-16:45; they will walk the audience through their experience at Liip as it has grown and how they have dealt with those changes as an organization. Their talk will touch on business, culture and contribution as they move towards becoming a ‘teal’ organization focused on self-management.

Even if business isn’t your usual area of interest at a Con, 'Teal is the New Orange' is packed with material that will benefit everyone from coders to the C-Suite and we look forward to seeing you there.
