Building High Performance Multicultural Teams
Patrick Lencioni states, “The true measure of a great team is that it accomplishes the results it sets out to achieve.” Working in a fast-paced open source tech environment is challenging. In an age where all of us are working in non-traditional locations and communicating more and more via online apps and channels, teamwork and productivity can suffer. Add remote coworkers, multicultural teams, language differences, multiple time zones, and these challenges can become major blockers to being highly productive and successful. This session will help prepare remote, international, and cross-cultural teams to understand their diversity, particularly in communication and behavior, and how to capitalize on their diversity to drive high performance throughout the team.
The interactive content will comprise of four main threads:

Understanding cross-cultural dynamics like communication styles, workstyle preferences, attitudes, and beliefs

Effective and responsible communications

Developing team Emotional Intelligence, which is about understanding and developing effective interpersonal interactions and behavior, and finally,

Characteristics of a high performance team and strategies for building team culture
This session will be highly interactive and participative and depending on the size of the audience, we may break up into smaller groups for targeted sessions.
