Shining Through: Promoting gender equality & innovation in Drupal

"Shining" evokes the sunshine, allowing visibility and freshness for a better perspective, increased diversity and more innovation for the Drupal community. Although Drupal is one of the Open Source communities with greater representation of women (17%) we still have much work ahead. The scarcity of women is seen in attendance at events, working on computers, in the speakers... There is much to work on and improve! More diversity means more creativity and innovation inside a company. Better solutions to the same problem.

Well cover why having an equality gender approach may help attract talent. And how to plant the seeds of the future for a plural culture embracing change and innovation.

Our goal is that attendees leave with an understanding of:

• Why the lack of women is detrimental to any organization
• Why is it important to "speak out" and not remain silent
• Why is it important to be involved in the problem
• How to attract diverse talent
• How you can teach teenage girls about Drupal

I will share Women In Technology Peru's experience, inspiring more women to appear as leaders in our industry; seeking to integrate more women into technology communities.
