The Climate Tagger - a powerful tool to annotate energy and climate change related content

kalte2707

Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, spanning countries and continents, societies and generations, sectors and disciplines. Yet crucial data and information on climate issues are still too often amassed - diffuse - in closed silos. Climate Tagger utilizes Linked Open Data to scan, sort, categorize and enrich climate and development-related data, improving efficiency and performance of knowledge management systems.

A lot of organisations in the field of clean energy and climate change development make use of Drupal CMS as their basis for their data-, information- or knowledge management solution. The ClimateTagger helps these organisations to improve their content management AND to connect their own content with content from other organisations' information systems in the field. Beside a Climate Tagger Drupal Module also a Climate Tagger CKAN module is available to make use of this service (that is provided for free) out-of-the-box.

In this session / presentation Martin Kaltenböck (Managing Partner of SWC that developed the ClimateTagger for REEEP as well as the  related Drupal module) showcases the mechanisms of the ClimateTagger and how it can be integrated into Drupal and which solutions can be realised on top of this. Climate Tagger is used by organisations like ELDIS, CTCN (UNEP) or the WorldBank. The session will be a mixed presentation and discussion about: problem statement - Climate Tagger as a solution - how to use this (in Drupal and above) - what services are possible in Drupal on top of the Climate Tagger integration.....
