Drupal content strategy experience on Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is among the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions of Greece. It is the largest university in Greece and in the Balkans.  It comprises 10 faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-School Faculty. 73.930 students study at the Aristotle University and there are 2.024 faculty members. 

Last 3 years the AUTH moved towards to Drupal, not only for the web sites of the schools and faculties, but also as a main platform for its services. Overall, there are more than 400 content administrators across the university, managing content on the main web site as well as in peripherals websites.

This session aims to share our experience on the development and use of content, especially academic related content. Several items will be covered:
- What are the general content strategy principles.
- Drupal as a content delivery platform: centralisation or decentralisation?
- Permissions: don’t touch this!
- Editorial workflows: how Drupal solves this problem.
- Dissemination: post once, deliver in many channels.
- The use of semantic annotations: the divide and conquer approach.
- Courses: how we made Drupal and Moodle the best friends!
- The use and role of media in the content: our “media pool” approach.
- The use of taxonomies: content without taxonomies is no content.
