Drupal, the Everything Management System

Update: I realise this is a very generic session that may be better suited for a non-Drupal centric event. Therefore I would like to retire it.

Is Drupal a CMS or a development framework? My experience confirms that is something that goes beyond both definitions. I call it the Everything Management System, because I haven't found anything that can not be done with it. The fact that something can be done with Drupal doesn't mean it should be done; but Drupal can certainly be used as a rapid application development tool to build prototypes or proofs of concept of anything under the sun, for example.

This talk is an introduction to newcomers to Drupal, technical or not, with the objective to outline the great advantages to use it. The talk includes an enhanced definition for Drupal (elevator pitch), description of different ways it can be used, introduction to the ecosystem (distributions, drush and forks) and good practices about sitebuilding.
