Drupal tends to find its niche in the world of enterprise content management systems. But what’s for non-profits and small-to-medium businesses? Is Drupal still suitable for them? Well, the answer is “Yes” at least for now. While Drupal 8 is in development, Drupal 7 provides an extensive set of approaches to build websites almost of any complexity especially for this market.

Being involved into development of hundreds websites with Drupal using probably every known approaches, in the session we are going to share our experience and best practices.

We will consider a bunch of typical websites, starting from a business card and going to a corporate portal and explain which modules, distributions and themes use to each of these websites:

  • Community portal

We will explain why using distributions is a good and a bad thing simultaneously. We will provides pieces of advice on site building and theming. We will demonstrate results of the ideas and support it with lists of used contributed modules.
