Getting things done. With people.
Have you ever had a brilliant idea, then dropped it because it would necessitate involving other real humans? Have you ever started a meetup, worked in a team, or gone to get a cup of coffee and ended up banging your head against a wall saying, "Gah! #@%* people!!"?
First, take a deep breath and picture puppies. This is a different moment.
Second, let's sit down and talk through some strategies and practical approaches to engaging with fellow humans - and not just that, but encouraging their movement in directions you believe to be beneficial (aka leadership). Sometimes it takes a lot of effort and thought to get things done, and sometimes all you need is a small habit change.
We'll use stories (names changed to protect the innocent), scientific research, and psychological principles to explore how people think, how YOU think, and how you can fit it all together in a dynamic and effective approach toward working with people. We'll also discuss how our particular community operates, its quirks, and some ideas for minimizing the drawbacks and enhancing our best cooperative features.
This session is non-technical in nature yet highly applicable in every sphere and at every level of technical competence.
