A KISS Task Runner: Farewell Grunt, Gulp, Phing, et al.

Do you already use a task runner such as Grunt, Gulp or Phing? Or maybe you're familiar with the command-line and in the market to start automating your repetitive and time consuming tasks? Want to learn about a simple and effective task runner?
In this session you’ll get an overview of what task runners are and how they can be used to save you time. You'll learn about Phing (written in PHP) and Grunt (written for node.js) and my experience and woes of using them.
In the spirit of KISS you’ll then learn about Composer scripts and npm scripts as simple and efficient alternatives to fully blown task runners.
This session will be technical and assumes some familiarity with task runners and Composer or node.js
