Long distance relationships: healthy, successful, distributed Drupal agencies and projects

I’m going to talk about managing projects with a widely distributed team, multiple timezones, working practices, meeting high expectations, managing quality, risk and information security and keeping the customer smiling.

 

After years of delivering projects and managing an agency I’ve plenty experience of what makes and breaks staff, projects, clients and ultimately, the business itself. I’m going to talk about how I took the opportunity to join a brand new business and design and implement the foundations on which we could build and the processes that would see us focus on quality, risk and security right through the organisation, from sales to recruitment, to hiring, to training to delivery and on to continued customer support.

 

We’ve developed a recipe for agency management and project delivery that I want to share. It’s a recipe that could help other Drupal agencies. My goal is to help those other agencies that have problems with delivery, who aren’t managing quality and risk, who have problems with distributed teams to deliver a better Drupal experience for all our customers so that, together, we can professionalise and raise the profile of Drupal and the agencies that deliver.
