Our Front end workflow showcased on our distribution ERPAL platform

I will introduce our ERPAL theme which is a subtheme of Omega and will cover the following topics:

  • Preprocessors (why we love SASS and how it is used correctly)

  • Automation tools (how grunt helps us a lot, not only for automation, but also to ensure the quality of our code)

  • CSS architecture (how we organize our SASS files to be extensible, reusable and be team-minded)

  • Grid (why we love singularity.gs, why bootstrap doesn't work for us and how we started loving flexbox)

  • Solving new design problems (the challenges we faced in building an extensible distribution)

  • Typography (why we love and hate icon fonts at the same time and why we still use them)


The Goal of this session is to give some insights how we work and how we increase productivity and quality. The nicest part about this showcase is that we show our open source Drupal distribution. So the participants can always get back to d.o download the current version and use it as inspiration or as blueprint to kickstart their next project.
