PM tricks and tips to survive in Drupal world

Being a project manager (PM) is a really important role which requires a lot of well-known skills as scope management, time planning, excellent multi-tasking, etc. However, being a successful PM involved in Drupal / Web development projects might require extra dedication and a mindset change as well.

In my presentation I would like to share to you details and examples based on true stories and my real experience showing how important from a PM perspective is to have a wide range of knowledge which combines the already mentioned “traditional” PM expertise with basic Drupal site building skills and even more ...

I will provide real examples, recommendations and advices which will be covering the following topics:

  • Why is important to understand Drupal and how to explain how it works event to a kid?
  • Is it really valuable for a PM to be able to build a basic Drupal site and why?
  • Let’s challenge our dev team in order to find a better solution, is that worthy?
  • Best practices and tips in gathering client requirements and understanding their business needs.
  • What is the added value for the project if the PM is monitoring the QA process?
  • Basic scenarios where the PM fails only because he / she doesn't spend the needed time to dig in Drupal.

This session is addressed to all guys working as a Project Managers who does have professional experience in the field of the project management but they don't feel quite conformatable when it stands about the Drupal. Therefore, we are community to help each other and therefore I will be glad to  provide y knowledge and experience to you. In addition, even PM's with considerable knowledge in Drupal might be attending , too , because never know when someone could learn something and afterwards this "something" wouuld save him a lot of effort / time.
