Drupalgeddon may be behind us, but worse attacks (Drupocalypse?) are always ahead of us, as zombie-staffed distributed botnets are spewing malicious garbage across our once pristine networks. Navigating the high seas of ransom notes is becoming increasingly challenging, with groups like Armada Collective, Lizard Squad, Phantom Squad (these are not made up names), and mounds of copycat groups on the rise. The pressure is greater than ever -- not only to stay online and serve dedicated customers, but to also do so gracefully, at record speeds, all while continuing to build vast scalable infrastructures.

 

How might besieged web operators repel the gross onslaught of DDOS attacks, layer 7 attacks, and other malicious behavior pushed through our nets?
