Lessons Learned on the Appalachian Trail

JimSmith

Starting in March 2017, I will begin a 2,189-mile backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail, a mountainous route from Georgia to Maine. Though the hike will take nearly six months to complete, I plan to get off the trail in April to attend DrupalCon. In this session I will share some of the lessons I've learned on the trail.

It might seem that hiking a long distance trail has little to do with developing a Drupal website. It's true there are differences between the simple, low-tech activity of backpacking and the complex, intensive work of Drupal development. Still, in my hiking I have learned there are many similarities.

Those who attend this session will learn valuable lessons for becoming a better Drupal developer and engaging in the Drupal community.
