The Mindful Developer: Reduce Stress, Avoid Burnout, and Work and Live Better.
Developers increasingly work in fast-paced environments, face tight deadlines and have to sort through competing priorities to manage expectations from multiple stakeholders. It’s no surprise that these conditions often lead to stress and burnout.
In such high-stress environments, having a method to manage stress and take care of your mental health is absolutely essential. Enter mindfulness. In this session we’ll myth-bust mindfulness, briefly cover the growing body of evidence supporting the efficacy of mindfulness meditation, and walk through a quick exercise to get a first hand experience of the practice.
No dogma. No pseudo science. No weird eye-gazing exercises, just an open and welcoming environment for beginners to ask questions and explore meditation. You’ll leave understanding the essential elements of mindfulness, how to start a practice at home or work, and begin to reduce stress in just a few minutes a day.
