Self Service DevOps

tmccabe07

The struggle for people to adapt and thrive within a DevOps organization is real. Imagine an organization in which developers, testers, business analysts, project managers and system administrators happily greet the advent of DevOps teams and principles without a single qualm.  If this only exists in your imagination, and is not at all reflective of your reality, then this session is for you.

By using a service oriented mindset to simplify and automate processes such that they can become self-service to any role, it is possible to encourage and promote both DevOps principles and a DevOps culture. This session will review a case study of such an implementation and the lessons learned.  It will also provide a demo of several self-service processes such as onboarding new Drupal environments.

Attendees should already be familiar with the concept of DevOps but do not require any additional knowledge beyond that.  Attendees will walk away having learned the following:

·       Understanding service oriented mindset and how to apply it to achieving a DevOps culture

·       A useful model for identifying opportunities to deliver a self-service DevOps process using automation tools

·       Starting point examples to start incorporating self-service DevOps processes into a team’s delivery cadence
