This presentation will draw on experiences building out The National Archives website www.archives.gov & The Barack Obama Presidential Library website www.obamalibrary.gov both sites were built on on Drupal 7 but the principles apply to any version of Drupal.
The two main topics are
- Helping content editors create complex layouts in the WYSIWYG. Customizing the WYSIWYG to add new ways to insert structured markup (i.e. custom CKEditor plugins)
- Automating required front-end icons. (adding external link notifications, pdf guidelines, download link icons with javascript)
