IgusBurton

Usability testing provides invaluable information surrounding the the behaviors and opinions of users. Generating a list of tasks to test is easy but how do you get those users into a room with you? What types of projects can utilize usability testing and when should it be implemented? This session is intended to provide an in-depth look into the usability of usability testing by detailing the logistics behind the testing process.

This session will cover:

  • Project types
    • Discovery/Research: Testing an existing product to inform potential areas of focus or enhancement during a redesign
    • Agile: Testing fast and often during sprints
    • Post-Launch: A comprehensive test following the launch of a product
  • When to test
  • Selecting a number of participants
  • Recruiting and incentivizing

(Note: The following topics would only be covered in a 60 minute session)

  • Script generation
  • Conducting the tests
  • Creating usability reports

Anyone interested in implementing usability testing at any phase of their project will be able to attend this talk.
