Is the future of content spoken rather than written? Regardless of what you think, conversational content is rapidly becoming a fixture in the many ways we experience content — including Drupal content. Thanks to the advent of voice-enabled and conversational interfaces, you can now have a verbal chat with your Drupal website to search for nodes, modify a field’s value, or even edit your content. Newfangled interfaces like chatbots, voice-enabled devices, and conversational mobile applications are reinventing our interactions with content and challenging our long-held notions of how we should think of Drupal content.

What does Drupal’s content look like in a conversation world? In this session, the team behind Acquia Labs will not only examine currently available and upcoming technologies but also track the trajectory of voice-enabled devices and conversational interfaces over time in Drupal. We’ll look at diverse modules like VoIP Drupal and Alexa and consider how to architect and build custom implementations which serve chatbots and other conversational interfaces. Finally, we’ll frame all of these technologies against the backdrop of multichannel experiences and their implications on the future of Drupal.
