From Waterfall to Agile - Phoenix Transformations

MatthewS

An organization's transformation from building with Waterfall to building with Agile isn't just an exercise of changing tools or deciding to operate using timeboxes. Planning Poker doesn't convert you to being Agile, nor does Pointing tickets.  You aren't an Agile shop if you have Scrums or practice Ceremonies. Your business doesn't build software in an Agile way even if you have a backlog that you groom.

Agile is more than just tools and techniques, it is a philosophy of how to build.

Transforming teams from building with Waterfall to building with Agile is a CULTURAL shift that is incredibly tough but can bring immediate and lasting benefits to your organization.

I've been involved helping transform a half dozen organizations ranging from boutique opensource shops to large enterprises like Examiner.com and Pfizer.

This session will discuss the human challenges and barriers that you might experience ranging from customers objections to the fears of your leadership.  We'll cover how to discuss the different tools, techniques, and changes to planning with nervous stakeholders.
