Write Unit Tests Today!
I am extremely excited myself to have this opportunity to motivate our community to unit test and see the benefits of unit testing! My approach will be very interactive and appropriate for all drupal attendees. In fact, I would even be willing to submit a second session to divide the groups if this makes sense to the organizers, but I want to bring everyone together so they can embrace the benefits of unit testing.
The session will go over the "Why?" in a captivating way, and most importantly with a "How?" answered so they can begin implementing what they learned as soon as they leave the session.
In our industry it can be challenging to explain unit testing without it being overly dry and similar to the videos they may have seen before. My goals are the following:
- Captivate the audience's attention with an out of the ordinary introduction to the concept.
- Bring multiple audiences (PM's, BA's, Dev's) together to understand how unit testing affects them.
- Explain the differences between functional and unit testing.
- Have everyone walk away with a desire to introduce unit testing or be confident about unit testing their project.
