The new Drupal Experience Builder is being shaped by a design thinking approach that emphasizes collaboration, iteration, and user-centered solutions. In this session, we’ll share how Acquia’s design team brought key design principles to the Drupal community to assist in modernizing the platform and creating a more intuitive, accessible experience.

In this session, we will talk about key points in our journey, including how we collaborated closely with the community of talented engineers in divergent sessions to explore technical constraints, ensuring that design decisions aligned with Drupal’s capabilities while still pushing the boundaries of innovative thinking. We will touch upon how the 30/60/90 feedback approach allowed us to gather iterative input at critical milestones, helping us to narrow in on decisions. Additionally, how we conducted in-depth research into common design patterns that could be applied to refresh Drupal’s aged UI, making it more user-friendly for all.
