It Takes Two to Make a Thing Go Right

With this new surge of bootcamp graduates and career changers gone tech, we’ve found ourselves with an interesting conundrum - there is so much talent out there, but these new candidates seem like they’re “just too green”. Employers are often concerned about the costs of on-boarding junior developers. Meanwhile, knowledgable, enthusiastic, and bright junior candidates are chomping at the bit, waiting for their opportunity to be recognized for their uniqueness and capabilities.

Drawing examples from my own experience, as well as other fellow bootcampers, this talk explores pieces of the puzzle that have helped successfully transform juniors from “green" to “lean, mean, coding machines”, consequently making them invaluable members of their teams. Psst... I'll give you a big hint on how to successfully onboard juniors: both parties need to be equally invested in the process for success to occur.
