Professional Full Day Hands-on Training

AI Inside Drupal: From Smart Editorial Workflows to Canvas Agents That Build Pages

You already use AI. Your Drupal site doesn't. This workshop closes that gap.

Most of us have made Claude, ChatGPT, or Copilot part of our daily work. But that's AI next to Drupal - living in a browser tab, disconnected from your content model, your editorial workflow, and your governance requirements. Over the past two years, the Drupal AI ecosystem has grown into something different: AI wired directly into the CMS itself, working with your fields, your vocabularies, components, workflows, and compliance rules.

If you haven't been tracking that ecosystem closely, or if you have but would like some guidance, this full-day, hands-on workshop is the fastest way to get comfortable with Drupal AI. Whether you're AI-curious or an everyday power user, you will learn how to transition from simple "chatting" to building agentic workflows that formulate and execute multi-step plans within your site.

What you'll walk out with

By the end of the day, you'll have built, on your own working Drupal site:

  • Provider configuration done right: connecting OpenAI, Anthropic, or Amazee.io with API credentials managed securely via the Key module.
  • Production-Ready Governance: Implement AI logging for full auditability, AI external moderation to protect against malicious prompts (or responses), and AI guardrails to restrict interactions by topic, length, or sensitive patterns.
  • AI Authorship Tools inside CKEditor: tone adjustment, summarization, and semantic HTML cleanup available to editors right where they write.
  • A Sidebar AI Assistant for Content Teams: readability evaluation, text moderation, and taxonomy suggestions that respect your existing fixed or free-tagging vocabularies.
  • AI-Driven Page Building: Experience Drupal Canvas AI to generate components, pages, and templates from natural-language prompts.

Why this matters for your team

Whether you build sites for clients or maintain them in-house, "can our CMS do AI responsibly?" is now a stakeholder question, not a hypothetical. This workshop is built around the human-in-the-loop philosophy: AI that assists editors and developers rather than replacing them, ensuring every AI-generated suggestion is reviewed before being saved. You'll leave the workshop able to demo real capabilities to your organization and evaluate the rapidly growing Drupal AI module ecosystem with confidence. Portions of this material have been presented and refined at Drupal events since late 2025.
