Abstract

Is Drupal truly falling behind? The perception within the community is mixed. Since the release of Drupal 7, we've observed a migration of some sites away from the platform, while new adopters appear to be fewer. However, this viewpoint might not capture the full picture.

Discussion Points

Current State of Drupal: Assessing Drupal's position in the CMS landscape today.

Historical Context: Understanding the journey of Drupal up to this point.

Enterprise Excellence: Highlighting Drupal's strengths as an "Enterprise" CMS, focusing on the quality and complexity of sites that choose Drupal for their intricate, highly customized, and integration-heavy needs.

Future Directions: Exploring the potential future of Drupal and discussing how we, as a community, can influence its trajectory to maintain and enhance its reputation as an innovative and flexible CMS.

Session Goals

Join us for a panel discussion to delve into the current status of Drupal, reflect on its evolution, and, most importantly, envision its future. We will examine how we can collectively steer Drupal towards continued success and make it the CMS of choice for high-quality, complex projects.

Conclusion

This session aims to spark a thoughtful conversation about Drupal's path forward, encouraging community engagement to ensure Drupal remains a leading, innovative, and versatile CMS.
