When ChatGPT first launched, along with many other people I thought my job could be over! Instead, we as Drupal developers have the potential to become indispensable through offering our clients valuable and effective AI-powered solutions and powerful AI applications.

Enter the AI module. A small group from the Drupal community have created a foundational AI module that gives you all the building blocks you need to build powerful AI applications. It is built on top of an AI Abstraction layer, meaning it can be used with any model you want, including open source self hosted models.

This talk will cover what is in the AI module and how to use it and will be useful for both site builders and developers alike. Some powerful Drupal tools made possible with our AI module include:

- Creating whole Drupal sites by merely showing a design.
- Creating content types, content and even views by uploading PDFs full of content.
- A customer service bot that can read your own technical manuals.
- Creating a webform from your rough hand-drawn sketch, which you can then edit by chatting to AI!

The AI module has a number of sub-modules that give site builders the building blocks to create these applications themselves.

- AI Search: Index your content so AI can access it and understand the meaning of potentially huge libraries of documents.
- AI Automators: Chain prompts together and create the complex applications all in Drupal via the familiar fields UI. Expand them to Agents to allow them to behave in an autonomous manner and decide how to approach a problem themselves.
- AI in Starshot: Work in Progress - This will be shaped by discussions with the community. Initial ideas include AI creating content for you, helping you in the content editing experience or even creating whole Drupal sites and Recipes for you from scratch!

I will provide a surface-level demo of the modules in action, followed by a deep dive into how they work to help the audience understand the potential applications of using Drupal.We will then explore the possible future applications and developments.

(Note: The concepts behind AI Search are also known as RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation), Embeddings and Vector Search.
