What, Why, and When for Recipes & Distributions with Starshot

What, Why, and When for Recipes & Distributions with Starshot

As the Starshot initiative was introduced, people have started to think more about the differences and use cases between Drupal distributions and recipes. This session will cover the "what, why and when" for both distributions and recipes, and share my thought on how recipes can evolve with the help of Starshot.

Key Points:

1. What: Understanding the "what" aspect involves defining what Drupal distributions and recipes are. This includes their core functionalities, features, and how they differ from each other. By clarifying the "what," attendees can grasp the fundamental concepts behind these components.
2. Why: Exploring the "why" aspect delves into the reasons behind using Drupal distributions and recipes. This covers the benefits, advantages, and specific use cases where one might choose a distribution over a recipe or vice versa. Understanding the "why" can help dev/organization make informed decisions based on their project requirements.
3. When: Addressing the "when" aspect focuses on determining the appropriate timing for utilizing Drupal distributions and recipes. This includes identifying scenarios where one option may be more suitable than the other based on project scope, timeline, complexity, and scalability requirements. Understanding the "when" can guide dev/organization in implementing the most effective solution for them.
