Honored as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, he holds a PhD in computer science and engineering from Ghent University and a Licentiate Computer Science (MsC) from the University of Antwerp. Dr. Safiya Noble is a 2021 MacArthur Fellow, a recipient of the inaugural NAACP-Archewell Digital Civil Rights Award, and author of the highly acclaimed Algorithms of Oppression: How Search Engines Reinforce Racism (NYU Press). She is an Associate Professor of Gender Studies and African American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where she Co-Founded the UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry (C2i2). She and her work have been featured in Time, The Guardian, the BBC, CNN International, Wired, The New York Times, among many others. Jess Romeo has led digital execution, client services, and quality assurance teams in healthcare and biopharma spaces for 15+ years. She has driven quality digital products at healthcare-focused digital agencies and, since 2019, as Director, Web Publishing Platforms at Pfizer. She is responsible for the Edison Platform, the backbone of all Pfizer websites, that provides standards, security, and guidance for development teams to ensure website compliance across the Pfizer landscape.

Brooke Aiken joined the FDIC in August 2019 as the FDIC’s first full-time Section 508 Program Manager. Brooke currently serves as the co-education chair for the federal-wide Accessibility Community of Practice. She is the newly elected president of FDIC’s CAN DO employee resource group, serves on the CIOO Work Excellence Council and previously served as a member of the FDIC Chairman’s Diversity Advisory Council.
Jasmyne proudly serves the State of Georgia as a Product Manager at the Georgia Technology Authority. She is the current product owner of GovHub, a Drupal web publishing platform that connects the constituents of Georgia to the services provided by over 80 state agencies. Through managing this product, Jasmyne champions accessibility and inclusivity in development as well as design.
Mike Gifford is a Senior Strategist at CivicActions and a thought leader on digital accessibility in the public sector. He is also a W3C Invited Expert and recognized authoring tool accessibility expert.
Previously, he was the Founder and President of OpenConcept Consulting Inc., a web development agency specializing in building open source solutions for the open web. Mike has served as a Drupal Core Accessibility Maintainer in 2012.
Martha Wilkes is an accessibility strategist at the Department of Veterans Affairs in the Office of the Chief Technology Officer. She began the civic tech phase of her career by serving a 4-year term at the US Digital Service, a tech startup at the White House. Before joining USDS, Martha spent her career designing enterprise software solutions in various private industries, from banking to statistical analysis to home health care. Martha lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
