How it feels to be dyslexic in a world dominated by written communication.

How it feels to be dyslexic in a world dominated by written communication.

Alvaro J Hurtado Villegas (Alvar0hurtad0)

Imagine walking through the jungle in shoes 5 sizes too big for you. It would be uncomfortable and you would look much clumsier than you really are. This feeling is the closest I can think of to what dyslexics experience when faced with long written conversations.

It is estimated that between 5 and 10% of the population are dyslexic. I was lucky enough to be diagnosed at the age of 10, but many people are probably dyslexic and don't know it.

In this talk I will tell my personal experience, how it changed my life for the better when I was just a child and it was possible to explain what was wrong with me. And how I explain to my little daughter, who is also dyslexic like me, that there is nothing to be ashamed of. And finally some tips that would help us.
