Lead a Summit at DrupalCon Rotterdam 2026
Summits are community-driven, one-day gatherings that bring people together around a shared industry, sector, or topic to connect, share knowledge, solve problems, and shape what’s next.
On Monday 28th September 2026, we are planning to host a day of summits at DrupalCon Rotterdam. We’re inviting the community to propose Summits that will create real value for attendees and help strengthen Drupal’s impact.
Have an idea? Submit a Summit proposal and help set the agenda.
What is a Summit?
A Summit is a focused day of sessions, discussions, and networking for people who share a common context, such as a sector (Higher Education, Government), an industry (Media, Healthcare), or a technology focus (AI, Accessibility, Security).
Summits can adopt an ‘unconference’ format and typically include:
- Lightning talks, case studies, and panels
- Facilitated discussions and practical breakouts
- Time for peer networking and collaboration
- Outcomes the community can take forward (ideas, connections, next steps)
If you’ve been to Summits before, think of the same energy: a room full of people who “get it,” working through shared challenges and opportunities.
We already have a few ideas… and we want yours too!
Current ideas include:
- Higher Education Summit
- Government Summit
- AI Summit
But this is not a closed list. If there’s a community you can bring together around Drupal, we want to hear your proposal - especially if it helps widen participation, strengthens regional networks, or attracts new voices.
Why run a Summit?
Running a Summit is a chance to make a real contribution and it’s also a great opportunity for your organisation, team, or community group.
As a Summit organiser, you can:
- Shape conversations in your sector or speciality
- Highlight real-world Drupal success stories
- Build a stronger network across Europe (and beyond)
- Create a “home base” for your community at DrupalCon
- Help newcomers find their people quickly
What makes a strong Summit proposal?
We’re looking for Summits that are:
- Clearly defined: a specific audience and purpose
- Community-led: designed for shared learning, not sales
- Inclusive: welcoming, accessible, and diverse in speakers and viewpoints
- Practical: content attendees can apply (examples, lessons learned, playbooks)
- Engaging: interactive formats beyond back-to-back talks
- Sustainable: run by a small organiser group with a plan for the day
Tip: The strongest proposals explain why this Summit is needed now and who will show up.
