"We certainly had a surge in submissions this year! Even the newest and hottest category, the AI-Enhanced Experiences had five submissions, filling up the category. My guess is that next year we will have 10+ submissions to that category alone.
The range of entries shows how powerful Drupal as an Open Source system truly is. From municipal websites to apps that connect parents in developing nations to expert childcare advice, the competition this year was fierce."

What are the Splash Awards?
The Splash Awards celebrate the very best Drupal projects from around the world. For many years, the awards have been organised as regional competitions in countries across the globe, recognising excellence, creativity, and technical expertise within local Drupal communities.
In 2018, the Splash Awards went international, giving top regional winners the opportunity to compete on a global stage. After a break, they returned in 2025 and have become an annual fixture for DrupalCon Europe, bringing the global Drupal community together to honour outstanding digital experiences and the teams behind them.
The International Splash Awards made a triumphant return in 2025 at DrupalCon Vienna 2025, bringing together outstanding Drupal projects from across the globe in a celebration of creativity, innovation, and technical excellence. With an impressive number of submissions across multiple categories, the event showcased the strength and diversity of the global Drupal community. Congratulations to all winners and runner ups, and a heartfelt thank you to every nominee for contributing to such an inspiring celebration of Drupal excellence.
